Washington County is located east of the Twin Cities. The Public Health and Environment Department has funding, free container labels, and technical support available to help schools located in Washington County to start or improve recycling programs.
County assistance helps schools achieve waste management goals outlined in the Schools Waste Reduction and Recycling Best Practices Continuum. The continuum was created in the fall of 2018 with input from an advisory group consisting of Ramsey and Washington County school representatives.
Benefits from this program include increased opportunities for source reduction, recycling and organics management in schools and greater efficiency and potential cost savings for schools. There is no deadline to apply.
