The Old Naturalist is the brainchild of Larry Wade. Larry has had a passionate affair with the Planet Earth for most of his life. He created The Old Naturalist program to fulfill his desire to help people develop a relationship with the Earth. His personal mission can be summed up as:

  • A Voice for the Earth.
  • Honoring Life and Seeking Beauty
  • Connecting, Learning, Healing
  • Earth First.
  • The Old Naturalist program includes classroom programs, a website, blog, online activities for teachers and students, The Nature Seeker Workbook, and more.

    The Nature Seeker Workbook is designed for students in grades 1-6 and is a unique personal field guide to the natural world all around us! It includes:

  • Over 50 field-tested activities
  • Hundreds of detailed and original illustrations
  • Highlights natural science through all seasons
  • Devotes entire units to forests and wetlands
  • Includes nature songs, poetry, weaving and sculpture art activities
  • Links to songs, quizzes and bird recordings by the Old Naturalist
