Description: |
Rivers of Life uses traditional and Internet communication technologies to bring a vibrant exploration of the world's greatest rivers--and discovery of local waterways--into classrooms for grades 3-12. During the year-long program, we will focus on a different global river each month, bringing them to life through student-centered inquiries involving interactions with online guests, hands-on classroom activities, optional local field experiences, research, and creative work. The program culminates with a two month focus on the Mississippi River during the annual spring runoff that includes a student expedition on a section of the Mississippi or one of its tributaries.
