Provides lists of plants likely to occur in wet, dry and mesic prairies in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Has a table giving characteristics (ability to compete with other plants, whether they are likely to be found in disturbed or virgin sites, modes of establishment, flower color, height, habitat preference and period of bloom) of more than 200 species of prairie plants. Has 13 b/w photos. For teachers, landowners, conservation groups, naturalists, outdoor enthusiasts, and students of prairie ecosystems.
