A PLACE TO DISCOVER...A PLACE TO EXPLORE...MINNESOTA VALLEY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE...
Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge runs along the Minnesota River from Fort Snelling State Park to the City of Jordan. The Refuge is run by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service under the Department of the Interior of the Federal Government.

It encompasses approximately 10,000 acres with six units open to public hiking and other wildlife related activities. In 1990 Minnesota Valley opened its Visitor Center in Bloomington, Minnesota that is free to the public. The center has exhibits explaining the management techniques
used in managing the Refuge, a twelve-minute introductory DVD, an art gallery and the Blufftop Bookshop. Nature programs are available to the public.

Summer Hours (April -October): 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
Winter Hours (November-March): 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Open the first full weekend of every month.
