Teachers, group leaders, home schoolers, and parents can now help children become Junior Park Naturalists using three booklets easily downloadable on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Web site at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/parks_recreation/jpn.html.
The booklets feature hands-on activities designed to help children learn about the plants and animals found in Minnesota's three main biomes or ecosystems. The activities in the Junior Naturalist booklets can be done in any park, forest, or natural area. After completing all of the activities in the booklet, children earn a Junior Naturalist patch and certificate. If they visit a Minnesota State Park to attend a program or complete a service project, they will receive their free patch and certificate at the park.
Booklets and downloadable certificates are available at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/parks_recreation/jpn.html.
