Known as "black gold" among gardeners, compost helps soil retain moisture and reduce erosion while helping you reduce the amount of waste you throw away. This video describes how easy it is to start a compost pile at home for yard and kitchen waste, as well as explaining the benefits of mulches and leaving grass clippings on the lawn.
