Design and Construction of Diversion Ponds for Aquaculture
Post Date: September 11, 2019
Resource Type:
  • short PDF
Description:

Many factors influence the design of a fish pond. Because every farmer has unique needs and resources, no one set of blueprints can be suitable for all, or even most situations. This illustrated manual, therefore, is not intended to provide exact specifications, but to discuss basic decisions and procedures involved in the design and construction of a pond. It provides detailed step-by-step instructions on how to build different types of ponds, select and prepare the best site, and control water in the pond; it also explains how to take advantage of natural features to keep pond construction costs low.
