In Minnesota, over 4 million waste tires are discarded each year. In an effort to curb the growing problems associated with waste tire dumps, the Minnesota Legislature passed the Waste Tire law in 1984. This video looks at how the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency worked to clean up the waste tires while working with retailers, local government and people to develop programs to avoid problems in the future and to help create more markets for tire related businesses.
