Description:

Coral reefs are the nucleus of all tropical seas, a shimmering world, bathed in liquid light and warmth. For centuries they were believed to be gardens of plants. Now we know that corals are animals, billions of tiny animals put together to create the largest ever structures built by living creatures. This video, hosted by Mike Farrell, explores the coral reefs in the splendor of the magical South Pacific. Meet the people who depend on coral reefs and see how it influences their culture and art. Investigate diseases and pollution killing the reefs around the world and discover how the reefs can heal themselves.
