The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University are hiring a full-time, benefit eligible Sustainability Program Manager to be a leader in campus sustainability initiatives.
This position is responsible for managing the College of St. Benedict and Saint John’s University Office of Sustainability in its charge to advance campus sustainability goals. The Sustainability Program Manager will develop, coordinate, and administer programs that encourage both individual and institutional commitment to advancing a sustainable future. In addition, the Program Manager will collaborate and build relationships with individuals, departments and organizations on and off campus to pursue goals in the following priority areas: food and dining, grounds, responsible consumption, transportation, community education, sustainable facilities (water, buildings and energy), waste, partnership and outreach. They will plan and implement sustainability initiatives and programming and help to create an overall strategy for sustainability planning into the future. This includes working with physical plant leadership to support CSB’s and SJU’s commitment to the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). The Program Manager will report to the Chief Financial Officers of CSB and SJU.
The Office of Sustainability seeks to challenge the dominant culture of consumption through cultural and behavioral change. Related activities include managing the office and student employee staff, developing and mentoring student interns, and actively working on outreach to the local community, with regional partners such as the Upper Midwest Association for Campus Sustainability, and in other contexts where applicable.
