Assist the Teachers on Special Assignment and the district science lead to implement an outdoor curriculum focused on meeting selected Minnesota science standards; provide feedback on the effectiveness of the science topics that demonstrated to students.
Work with small groups of students to implement the science curriculum developed by the Teacher on Special Assignment. Over 90% of this working with students is performed outdoors.
Work with other staff members to plan activities, review lesson plans and obtain information about individual students.
Modify the science topic being demonstrated in accordance with the cognitive and physical needs to students.
Enforce rules and policies pertaining to students in a manner that is fair, timely and effective and which ensures student safety.
Assess the environment daily in order to utilize the changing natural resources and conditions to most effectively incorporate science concepts into the lesson.
Prepare and clean up for programs
Develop and maintain demonstration tools and teaching supplies
Maintain first aid, CPR and AED certification and review safety scenarios.
Epi-pen and inhaler training
Attend staff meetings and/or other meetings related to students and the program.
Contribute to the District's Strong Schools, Strong Communities efforts by partnering with other staff to contribute to student achievement and the alignment and sustainability of resources.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
