Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Description

Join Great River Greening to celebrate National Public Lands Day. As part of this year's "Together for Tomorrow" celebration, we will be planting mast-bearing shrubs into a meadow opening at Camp Ripley's Ruffed Grouse Management Area (RGMA). This will be at the South unit/parking lot. These plantings will provide an important food source for Ruffed Grouse, American Woodcock, Wild Turkey, and other game and non-game wildlife, including pollinators. The planting density and design has been carefully laid out for ideal spacing between thickets.

This is a family friendly event! Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to attend. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary, we will provide the training and tools required.

Join us in the celebration and get the chance to meet Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists, get oriented with the RGMA trails, and learn about the plan for the planting site and beyond. Lunch will be provided!
