Description:

Vermilion Community College (http://www.vcc.mnscu.edu) offers a variety of programs for people interested in learning more about our environment. Vermilion is one of the largest two year degree programs with an environmental emphasis. Students can earn Associate degrees in such areas as: Wilderness Management, Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation, Water Resources, Waste Management, Wilderness Pilot, Environmental Law Enforcement. Vermilion also one year certificate programs in Wildlife Management and National Park Service Ranger Training.

Vermilion also has a large Continuing Education Department with over 100 programs offered per year. The majority of these programs are offered through Environmental Studies and Elderhostel. Programs tend to focus on the northern Minnesota environment with such topics as: canoeing, dog sledding, birding, boreal ecology, wilderness tripping, wilderness management and many others.
