Post Date: September 11, 2019
Resource Type:
  • Grant | Funding
Description:

Under the Environmental Education Grants Program, EPA seeks grant proposals from eligible applicants to support environmental education projects that promote environmental awareness and stewardship and help provide people with the skills to take responsible actions to protect the environment. This grant program provides financial support for projects that design, demonstrate, and/or disseminate environmental education practices, methods, or techniques. Since 1992, EPA has distributed between $2 and $3.5 million in grant funding per year, supporting more than 3,700 grants.

Grantees are located in all 50 states and various U.S. territories. Each grant addresses one or more environmental issue, and an educational priority such as teacher training, educational advancement, or career development. A summary of these national statistics is provided below. More than 3,600 grants have been awarded nationwide since 1992.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018 EE Grants Program. Proposals are due March 15, 2018.
