Description:

TreezyDoesIt.com is the source for Minnesota K-12 teachers to go to for free, informative and interactive lessons about our forests, forest products and other topics of interest. Stop back often, because we're always adding new lessons!

The Minnesota Forest Industries (MFI), which for more than 30 years has produced educational materials for teachers' use throughout the state, has launched a website for Minnesota K-12 teachers and the general public - www.TreezyDoesIt.com

The website includes downloadable Smart Board lessons in English and Spanish that are tied to Minnesota academic standards, and also has videos about careers in the forest products industry and easy ways to order free Papermaking Kits, Wood Kits, informative posters and other materials.

After getting feedback from teachers as to what they'd like in the classroom, we created a Smart Board application for our popular free Trees of Minnesota poster, which identifies the species, their unique properties and where they're found around the state. TreezyDoesIt.com is not only an informative and fun resource for teachers, but parents will also enjoy using it to help teach kids about the trees in their backyards.

TreezyDoesIt.com also offers links for teachers to quickly see how the Trees of Minnesota poster and app fit state standards in science, social studies, math, language arts and art.

Minnesota Forest Industries is an association representing the state forest products MFI members encourage conservation, proper forest management and industry development that foster sound environmental stewardship, multiple use of timber lands and sustainable, long-term timber supply. MFI's web address is www.minnesotaforests.com.
