Description:

Ramsey and Washington Counties have trash trunks available for loan to teachers and group leaders within the two counties. Trash Trunks are a great tool for both formal and informal educators to teach youth about garbage and waste reduction! Students will learn how much garbage we create, what's in our garbage, and where our garbage goes. The curriculum is broken down into 30 minute lessons that focus on the topics of garbage, resource recovery, landfills, and groundwater. Trunks are filled with curriculum ideas, hands-on activities, books, music, and videos. These interactive, comprehensive lessons are designed for grades K-6.

Trash Trunks are available to borrow from the service centers in Cottage Grove and Forest Lake as well as the government center in Stillwater. Please call the Department of Public Health & Environment at 651-430-6655 if you'd like more information or would like to reserve a Trunk.
