The Edible Schoolyard Network connects educators around the world to build and a share a K-12 edible education curriculum. We bolster edible education in programs across the country through our online network and resource center and offer professional development opportunities at our annual Edible Schoolyard Academy.
Based in our "backyard" in Berkeley, this network of resources connects the growing movement for edible education - mapping programs, documenting stories, and sharing resources. Resources are categorized into program type, resource type (i.e. lessons, recipes, community outreach, etc.), subject, grade, and season.
Another piece of this program is The Edible Schoolyard Academy: Creating Garden and Kitchen Classrooms in Every Community. The Academy trains educators to create powerful and sustainable edible education programs in their schools and communities. Each June, we invite teachers, administrators, and advocates from around the world to spend five days behind the scenes at the Edible Schoolyard Berkeley. Learn and experience first-hand the core principles and practical tools for bringing academic subjects to life in the kitchen, garden, and lunchroom. Whether you are a new or seasoned practitioner, the Academy will strengthen your program and build your leadership in the field.
Join the conversation on the Network's discussion forum to exchange garden advice, support, and challenges with educators, advocates, and experts around the world!
