Sound and Light Demonstration
Post Date: September 11, 2019
Resource Type:
  • Field Trip | Program
  • Speaker
Description:

We will ponder the characteristics and behaviors of sound and light and the mechanisms by which they are produced, propagated, and detected. Sound is a wave which is created by vibrating objects and propagated through a medium from one location to another. Light is said to travel in both a wavelike manner and a particle-like manner. This is called the wave-particle duality which states that photons do have a mass and travel along on a wave. We will explore the nature of each and provide an entertaining sound and light show to bring us to a sensory crescendo
