Description: |
Ornamental grasses offer homeowners, cabin owners, landscapers, and park managers an environmentally friendly alternative for grounds beautification. They can also be used to control soil erosion and in prairie re-establishment. This fact sheet reports the results of a 6-year study in which more than 80 ornamental grasses (including many native species) were tested for winter hardiness at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum (just west of Minneapolis, in USDA Zone 4a). Lists the grasses that proved to be hardy by botanical and common names. Gives recommendations for culture and maintenance.
