Since 1982, the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center (MVAC) at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse (UW-L) has been involved in researching, preserving, and teaching about the archaeological resources of the Upper Mississippi River region.
MVAC offers several resources for educators and the general public. The website provides several articles on how archaelogists identify projectile points, some research that has been done to bridge the past and present, sites that MVAC has investigated, and much more. In addition, the website has an activity brochure that lists MVAC's events and displays.
Specific to educators, MVAC provides professional development opportunities and an archive of education newsletters.
