The goal for environmental education (EE) is to help citizens become more environmentally literate. The MPCA's programs support environmental education in Minnesota by providing:
Curricula, training, videos and other resources.
Coordination, facilitation and partnership-building.
Expertise and guidance for program development.
Funding to support education programming.
Our strategy to achieve the goal of environmental literacy is to focus our work on "capacity building" for environmental education-developing effective organizations and individual leaders in order to achieve comprehensive EE programs at the state, regional and local level. Through comprehensive efforts Minnesotans are better able to learn about and make decisions concerning their environment.
