The Minnesota Naturalists' Association exists to advance natural and cultural resource interpretation for the purpose of fostering wise stewardship of all resources.
The Minnesota Naturalists' Association is a collection of naturalists and supporters. MNA offers its members growth opportunities in skill and career development through workshops, newsletters, and communications with other environmental educators. Members are actively involved as professionals or volunteers in natural history, cultural or historical interpretation.
MNA offers its members growth opportunities in skill and career development and serves as a forum for interpreters to pool knowledge, share ideas, and establish contacts with colleagues. Those in the initial stages of career development are afforded the opportunity to network with experienced educators.
Members of MNA have several benefits and opportunities to become involved in the organization and field of interpretation through:
Trainings and Fieldtrips: MNA offers regular naturalist trainings and fieldtrips each year at different nature centers, camps, museums and state parks throughout the state to provide professional development opportunities to members on many topics and field experiences. Trainings and fieldtrips are typically free to members but open to non-members for a small fee.
Committees: MNA is member-led via an active board and many volunteers. There are many opportunity to become involved in the various committees that help to enhance the field of environmental education/ interpretation. The committees include:
