Focus Visits at Minnesota Children’s Museum combine a 45-minute in-depth exploration on a topic of your choice and one hour and 15 minutes of self-guided exploration in the hands-on exhibits. Focus Visits, as well as pre- and post-visit curriculum, support the Minnesota Graduation Standards.
Register your class for a Focus Visit and receive program materials with Minnesota Graduation Standard connections, classroom activities, and a take-home letter and activity. Focus Visits cost $5.50 per student. Adult chaperones are free. Need-based reduced admission is available for qualifying groups.
Focus Visit topics include:
Amazing ANTics - Students investigate the world with an in-depth study of prairie ants through hands-on activities. Grades K - 3
Forest Food Find - Students explore predator-prey relationships and the energy of food chains and webs as they become animals trying to survive in the forest. Grades 2 - 4
Get the Dirt on Earth Science - Students become geologists and investigate igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks and minerals. Grades 2 - 4
Suitcase Adventures - Students sharpen map skills through a variety of hands-on geographic activities. Grades 1 - 4
Community Faces and Places - Students cooperate with each other while building a community as a team. Grades 1 - 3
Patterns Everywhere - Students explore patters in the world around them and develop building blocks for everyday learning. Grades 1 - 4
