The Merck Family Fund grant supports work by communities with few resources that are confronting significant social, economic, and environmental challenges. The Merck Family Fund was established in 1954 by George W. Merck, President of Merck & Co. He created the fund for two principal reasons: 1) to do good with the resources acquired through the company's success; 2) to create an opportunity to regularly bring family members together.
Merck Family Fund Goals
To restore and protect the natural environment and ensure a healthy planet for generations to come.
To strengthen the social fabric and the physical landscape of the urban community.
The fund welcomes proposals that:
Conserving Ecologically Valuable Land

Demonstrate community engagement and certified sustainable management of land particularly concerning forestry and farming.
