The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics is an educational, non-profit organization dedicated to the responsible enjoyment and active stewardship of the outdoors by all people world-wide. While the headquarters is located in Boulder, Colorado, each state has its own volunteer State Advocate. The Minnesota Leave No Trace State Advocate is Rita Hussman.

The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics teaches people how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. The Leave No Trace Center is an educational non-profit organization that achieves its mission through education, research, partnerships and volunteerism.
Vision
As the leading educator of outdoor ethics, the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics will grow a nation of outdoor advocates to put the Leave No Trace principles into action.
2011 Strategic Priorities
Along with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics' full slate of programs, the organization has identified three strategic priorities:
1. Local Community Participation: Developing and supporting dedicated members, volunteers and educators at the local level, the Center will fully realize community-based Leave No Trace programs.
2. Youth Education: Building on programs that support educational initiatives, the Center will cultivate the next generation of environmental stewards
3. Frontcountry Outreach: Promoting Leave No Trace practices in close-to-home and day-use areas where 90 percent of our nation's outdoor recreation occurs, the Center will provide onsite education, focused grants and multicultural outreach. Frontcountry education will boost Leave No Trace practices at the local level.
