Description:

The Epidemiology and Environmental Health unit is dedicated to
understanding which different elements in the environment can adversely affect human health and how to interact with those elements to prevent illness. Environmental health assures safety in food, beverage and lodging and swimming facilities and epidemiology monitors illness and educates the public about significant public health diseases and conditions.
Services include: licensing and inspections of food, beverage, lodging,
swimming pools and children's camps; investigations of public health
nuisances, elevated blood lead cases, indoor air complaints; teaching
classes to food service personnel on food safety and classes to certify
pool operators; provide education on food safety, radon, lead and general environmental health. Enforce Federal, State, and County environmental and health regulations.
