Description:

The actual composition of the garbage created in the State of Minnesota is quite alarming. The garbage pie is a pie chart that gives a visual representation of the percentage of garbage that is made up of recyclable material. The activity states with a clean pie chart. Participants help to uncover examples of each of the categories of waste. Examples are the displayed on the chart until the entire pie is filled in. Participants leave with a clear understanding that much of what we throw away should actually be diverted into a recycling bin or compost pile.
