Description:

Deep Portage Conservation Reserve (DPCR) is a 6,300-acre forest reserve managed by Cass County for natural resources, research, education and recreation. There are numerous lakes and bogs and several miles of maintained hiking and xc ski trails. Open to the public, DPCR is also home to Deep Portage Learning Center, a full-service residential environmental education center. Reservations must be made to participate in programs at the learning center, but the land of DPCR is open to hunting, hiking, and has several non-motorized lake access points. Check with the staff at the learning center for more info about the reserve and available programs.
