Capitol Region Watershed District Grants
Post Date: September 11, 2019
Resource Type:
  • Grant | Funding
Description:

Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD) Grants support organizations who share in its mission to protect, manage, and improve the water resources of the District. CRWD grants provide financial and technical assistance to help citizens build projects that protect local lakes and the Mississippi River.

Polluted runoff is the number one cause of water pollution in lakes and rivers in urban areas. Reducing runoff by allowing it to soak into the ground is key to keeping our lakes and rivers clean. Much of the land in CRWD is already developed and held by private owners, so working with landowners who build clean water projects is vitally important. All applications are subject to approval by our Board of Managers. There is a 2-4 week review and approval period.

All grantees are required to track and report general information about program participation. Priority will be given to applicants who propose to also measure program impacts/benefits.

Groups within CRWD eligible to receive a grant include nonprofit organizations, District Planning Councils, neighborhood groups, schools, local government units, businesses and faith groups.
