Join our Visitor Relations team as a Visitor and Volunteer Experience Manager. This position oversees the delivery of customer service and personalized facilitated experiences through both staff and volunteers . This role also oversees organizational volunteer operations ensuring strategic alignment and delivery.

Work Environment: Temporarily remote work from home to be assessed every 3 months in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, office setting onsite.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create a superior visitor experience by providing leadership for all aspects of visitor experience team and museum operations.
  • Have a working knowledge of museum operations best practices, ticketing and phone systems, CRM, and procedures of purchase point operations in service of strong representation of the visitor voice.
  • Support equity and access initiatives across the organization, which contribute to a museum environment, and people, that reflect and respond to the diverse needs and cultures of our community (internal and external).
  • Work in partnership with the visitor experience manager to think holistically about customer service and experience delivery in new and innovative ways.
  • Create, implement, manage, and evaluate the volunteer lifecycle including training and enrichment to ensure optimum attraction, engagement, and retention of high performing volunteers to foster positive organizational culture.
  • Support and collaborate with organizational leaders regarding their volunteer needs to align with the strategic direction and goals of the organization.
  • Ensure that volunteers are positioned well and supported in their interactions with visitors to provide engaging, personalized and educational experiences.
  • Create, refine, and enforce processes and policies to ensure integrity, clarity and consistency in the volunteer community.
  • Responsible for creating and monitoring a robust budget, which contributes to cost-effective operation of the museum.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in customer service and operation management in retails, hospitality or attraction industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large teams on a continual basis.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in writing, communication, training, and managing budgets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • An understanding of volunteer management is valued but not required.
  • Cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities.
  • Willingness to be open and respectful of all backgrounds.
  • Fluency in language(s) other than English valued (Hmong, Somali, Spanish).

Hiring Pay Range: $50,000 USD or more per year/ Depending on Qualifications.
