Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented person as our Summer & Special Programs Director. This position administers Wolf Ridge’s youth and family programs as well as academic science immersion and other special programs. The Summer & Special Programs Director works with a core team of program staff to run camp programming. They also collaborate with a team of educators responsible for teaching classes, writing and maintaining curriculum, and managing specific programs during both summer and school year. Wolf Ridge operations are centered on a 2000-acre campus with a 400-bed facility annually serving more than 12,000 program participants in northeastern Minnesota.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
Three or more years of SummerCamp Management experience
1 or more years of related experience and/or training as a teaching naturalist or a certified teacher.
Experience must include:
Managing camp programs, particularly overnight or residential camps
Working with family programs or programs that integrate people of all ages in a learning situation
Staff management and training.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet skills;spreadsheet, word processing and design layout software, specifically Microsoft packages. CRM Database experience for camp registration, records maintenance, and familiarity with CampBrain is a bonus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Required: Driver’s License, First Aid and CPR
Preferred: Life Guarding and/or Wilderness Water safety, NASP Archery, and other appropriate certifications.
