Salary range

Pay rate $13.16-15.63/hour

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate, or equivalent
  • Education to include coursework equivalent to a year-long high school class in a natural science (such as biology, ecology, or environmental science) or in any combination of natural science topics
  • Successful completion of a Background CheckPreferred Experience
  • Experience in outdoors, camping and working with school-age children, basic grounds and building maintenance.About the Position
  • This is a full-time, temporary position for the 2020 summer season. Duties are split between Group Program Instructor and Maintenance Support.
  • Group Program Instructor works in a team setting (T/W/TH) leading groups of children from camps, daycares, summer schools and other community groups in outdoor, play-based activities at Tamarack Nature Center. Primary duties include meeting and greeting groups at their buses, leading outdoor programs for groups, setting up and clearing daily program supplies, working with volunteers, and communicating effectively with other staff, group leaders, chaperones and kids, some of whom may have special needs.
  • Maintenance Support duties are mainly conducted before and after programs and all day Fridays and Saturdays. Includes cleaning buildings, removing trash, mowing, weeding, removing brush, set-up and take-down of tables and chairs, assisting patrons, and other duties as assigned. Some operation of utility vehicles, golf carts and other light equipment required.Required Hours & Schedule   This is a temporary position for the 2020 summer season running June – August including mandatory training.
  • Season and Time Commitment:
  • Tuesday-Friday 8:00-4:30, Saturday 9:00-5:30 (Sunday and Monday off) Additional hours may be required. 80% of work performed is outdoors, 20% indoors.
