Job Description |
SCHEDULE:
6/2/2021- 8/25/2021
30 hours per week (will include at least one weekend day per week),
8:30am – 5:00 pm
COMPENSATION:
$12.69 - $13.74/ Hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in training to learn to develop, conduct, and market environmental education curricula & programs, including summer camp.
- Responsible for education programming on at least one weekend day.
- Help to maintain exhibit animals including reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
- Organize and lead a variety of small group activities as developed by the Springbrook staff. Activities may include hiking, nature explorations, crafts, games, canoeing, archery, stream and pond hikes, art and drama activities, etc.
- Complete other assigned operational tasks before and after camp such as: clean up and room preparation.
- Provide fun and engaging activities outdoors.
- Identify and respond to camper behavioral issues.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Respond to inquiries by telephone, email and in person concerning a broad spectrum of natural resource information.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two years in a college program in Natural Science, Environmental Education, or related field
- Experience with youth engagement and/or teaching
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Valid driver’s license
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to be imaginative and innovative in programming with youth
- Experience in care and programming of live animals
