Job Description

Scope of Responsibility:

The Seasonal Naturalist is responsible for assisting the Naturalist with program planning and presentation, as well as some aspects of daily operation, at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center.  This position has continuous public contact requiring tact, courtesy and good judgment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Present environmental education programs for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. (70%)
  2. Assist with planning, set-up and take-down of Nature Center programs. (20%)
  3. Assist with Nature Center operations, projects, special events and other tasks as assigned. (10%)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Must be able to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Is able to communicate orally and in writing and understands, follows, and transmits written and oral instructions.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and the general public.
