Job Description

The Washington Conservation District (WCD) in collaboration with Washington County and other partners seeks self-motivated individuals to provide watercraft inspections to prevent the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) in beautiful Washington County, Minnesota. Earn an income while helping the environment and enjoying the outdoors!

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attends and completes DNR training to become an authorized Level 1 inspector
  • Interviews watercraft owners and performs watercraft inspections at assigned inspection stations
  • Educates launch users about the importance of AIS prevention
  • Maintains daily inspection reports and data entry
  • Performs light access maintenance during slow boat use periods
  • Other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work involves mostly outside field work (95%). Long periods of standing and sitting; lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds required on an infrequent basis; may be exposed to hot, cold, and wet conditions. Use of the senses of sight and touch are necessary in this work.
