This position is with the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education (WCEE), a center of the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The WCEE provides leadership and resources to advance education for sustainable human and natural communities through the offering of professional development, curriculum, and resources. The Resource Specialist will work across all WCEE programs - including KEEP (Wisconsin K12 Energy Education Program), LEAF (Wisconsin K-12 Forestry Education Program), and Green and Healthy Schools Wisconsin. Our audience is primarily K-12 formal classroom educators, non-formal educators, pre-service teachers and faculty. Specific areas of responsibility for the WCEE Resource Specialist include:
• Maintain and develop curriculum and lessons aligned with current state and national standards
• Assure the quality and integrity of WCEE curriculum and resources • Manage the WCEE trunks and kits program
• Assist in promotion and outreach throughout the state of various resources
• Provide WCEE cross-program support
The Resource Specialist will be expected to continually sharpen professional skills by attending trainings and participating in professional organizations to share with WCEE team. Travel, including occasional overnights and weekends, will be expected.
