Organizational Development and Equity Manager
Status: Full-time, 40 hours/week, salaried position

The Manager will lead change and growth as the organization grows and develops, with the goal of providing mission-driven employee experience and growth.

Position Summary
The Organizational Development and Equity Manager (Manager) is responsible for building organizational health and performance through exceptional human resource administration, leading an inclusive organizational culture, a commitment to equity, and efficient operations. This position is accountable for performance management administration for our 13-person team, compensation, benefits, talent planning, recruitment practices, and professional development programs. The Manager also ensures equity is embedded into Climate Generation’s culture and systems, and that the culture of our growing organization continues to evolve and support the delivery of our vital mission. This position manages overall operations and administration, including vendor management of outsourced services (IT, property management). The Manager is a strategic thought-partner to the senior leadership team.
Essential Functions:
Human Resources Administration (40%)
- Manage and continue to develop the annual and tri-annual performance review program for effectiveness, compliance and equity within the organization
- Facilitate effective and equitable goal-setting process, evaluation metrics, and support the monitoring of organizational performance against goals in conjunction with supervisors
- Develop, implement and manage a 360-degree review process for all staff
- In collaboration with Finance Manager, research and manage employee benefits administration, including health plans, benefits and salaries for the organization relevant to the industry; monitor and manage workers compensation, and unemployment claims compliance
- Lead development and standardization of the organization’s operations policies and procedures to include employee handbooks, forms, and organization policies and procedures while ensuring compliance, effectiveness and communication
- Responsible for staying up-to-date with employment laws and legal landscape and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and industry regulations
- Maintain discretion and sensitivity in handling confidential information
- Establish and maintain consistent employee record-keeping practices
- Create and maintain job descriptions
- Ensure posting, recruiting, screening, interviewing and onboarding are equitable and successful
- Manage intern postings, placement and support in coordination with relevant staff
- Refine and administer process and protocol for hiring and exit interviews for all employees and interns
- Evaluate, modify and enhance existing systems as needed
High-Performing Organization Culture (30%)
- Enable our cultural architecture to honor our legacy and support our growth into the future as a key enabler of our organization’s mission and vision; including development of our core values and the mindsets and behaviors necessary to operationalize our culture, as well as a plan to optimize the employee experience
- Lead operationalization of diversity, equity, and inclusion as a core organizational value; Ensure brand, marketing, and external programming and internal culture align with the organizational commitment to equity, racial and climate justice
- Establish and monitor fair and equitable compensation and benefit programs, professional development programs, and organization practices which result in a safe, welcoming, and healthy environment
- Work to create high levels of employee engagement across the organization, coaching individuals and supervisors to create an environment where everyone feels motivated, priorities are managed effectively, conflict is managed in a healthy way, and performance outcomes are improved
- Refine and administer procedures to recruit and retain talent, ensuring hiring managers demonstrate best-practice behaviors
- Encourage professional development of all staff, maximizing established goal setting and professional development plans
- Support leadership training and activities
- Develop, monitor, and take action to ensure key performance indicators of our culture, organizational health, and employee performance is optimized
- As necessary, build change management plans to inspire commitment to shifts in organizational strategy, tactics, and other projects that require employees to adopt new mindsets and behaviors
- Develop and build upon a culture of employee wellness
Operations (30%)
- Ensure operations and office management activities meet current needs and anticipate future growth for the organization’s budget and employee needs
- Continuously improve upon office composting, recycling, and other physical elements in the office environment
- Manage electronic and paper records, excluding financials
- Manage storage of organization materials, printing, computer and non-computer equipment
- Maintain vendor relationships for equipment, including printers, copiers, office supplies, and furniture
- Ensure all systems are working effectively (phone, internet, etc)
- Manage and maintain office space and leasehold improvements
- Advise senior leadership team on improving overall efficiency and effectiveness of operations
Expectations:
- Typical hours are 9-5 pm weekdays, with occasional commitments outside regular hours
- This position may push, pull, carry, lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Experience and qualifications required:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and/or 3-5 years demonstrated human resource, diversity, equity and inclusion and administration experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Proven ability to develop efficient business operations and systems
- Demonstrated success partnering with and advising senior leadership
- Interest in the issue of climate change and our mission
- Committed to diversity, equity and inclusion
- Strong orientation toward teamwork and ability to build effective cross-departmental relationships and teams
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to express concepts in writing and through individual conversations
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range for this position is between $50,000-$55,000 based on experience and qualifications
- Full-time, exempt position, working 40 hours per week
- 20 days of PTO (increases with years of employment), 6 paid holidays and a holiday break from December 24th through January 1
- Three percent matching contribution of annual salary to 403(b) retirement plan after one month of employment
- Medical insurance provided through BenefitsMN with Medica and Colonial Life Dental (80% of monthly premiums are covered by employer) and Flexible Spending Account for out-of-pocket medical expenses
- Cell phone reimbursement ($25/month) and travel/mileage reimbursement
- Located in the Greenway building with access to biking trails and light-rail transit, as well as indoor bike storage area and showers

Hiring Process and Timeline:
