Join our Mission Advancement team as a Mid-Level Giving Specialist. This role has primary responsibility for the acquisition, renewal, and stewardship of Mid-Level giving donors. This role will be responsible for meeting established museum goals and priorities through fundraising strategies that identify, engage, solicit and steward Mid-Level donors. This position oversees a diverse portfolio with a focus on sustaining and growing financial support for the museum.
Work Environment: Temporarily remote work from home to be assessed every 3 months in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, office setting onsite. Extensive local travel required in the Twin Cities Metro Area; sporadic overnight travel may be required.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage engagement strategies to ensure consistent, coherent, and effective communications to promote the positive positioning of the museum.
- Create and implement engagement plans for a mid-level giving portfolio of approximately 150-200 donors.
- Work with the Director of Leadership Giving to create and implement engagement strategies to qualify and cultivate donors and prospects, and build stewardship plans.
- Work with the appropriate Mission Advancement staff to ensure appropriate donor recognition, membership benefits fulfillment, and individual donor stewardship.
- Work with appropriate Mission Advancement staff to create a calendar of dynamic and engaging communications and events for the mid-level giving group with a focus on acquiring new members and upgrading current memberships and gifts.
Develop fundraising strategies and build relationships to further the mission of the division and meet museum goals and priorities.
- Maintain and expand a portfolio of mid-level donors, including prospecting and building relationships with new and current donors.
- Partner with museum program staff to develop new donor relationships, and implement giving and stewardship materials.
- Collaborate across Mission Advancement division to meet established mid-level and individual giving goals.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning by attending seminars/workshops and reviewing professional publications.
Utilize and maintain database files resulting in data integrity and streamlined information collection while adhering to established standards.
- Create and maintain donor records to ensure timely completion of individual solicitations and communications, and reporting; create tasks for appropriate annual follow up.
- Monitor and update donors, gifts, and benefits in CRM database system as needed (Tessitura).
- Update and ensure accuracy of individual stewardship, recognition, and benefits listings.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports and updates and provide detailed information about current donors and future prospects.
- Prioritize a broad range of activities in a timely and efficient manner.
Effectively prioritize and manage project deadlines resulting in clearly defined tasks and achievable outcomes.
- Actively promote and participate in the development of an overall culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.
- Stay current on relevant internal program data; document information and distribute internally as appropriate.
- Maintain high ethical standards for self and organization. Acts responsibly and in the best interest of the museum.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in development work including, corporate, foundation relations, and individual donor portfolios.
- Experience in working with diverse audiences.
- Donor management and/or database experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with Minnesota and national corporate and philanthropic community.
- Familiarity with STEM issues and science programs is desirable.
- Cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities.
- Willingness to be open and respectful of all backgrounds.
- Fluency in language(s) other than English valued (Hmong, Somali, Spanish).
Starting rate: $56,000 USD or more annually / Depending on Qualifications.
