Join our Human Resources team as a Generalist. This role is responsible for human resources support in the design, implementation, and maintenance of HR programs including leaves of absences, benefit administration, performance management, workforce planning, employee retention, employee relations, and compliance in support of the museum’s mission, vision, and strategic direction. This role works across all departments and all levels within the organization.
Work Environment: Temporarily remote work from home to be assessed every 3 months in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, office setting onsite.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advisor and coach to employees and managers on all aspects of human resources ensuring superior customer service all with a lens of equity & inclusion.
- Manage the full cycle employee relations and leave of absence processes ensuring support and guidance for both the employee and manager while adhering to all local, state, and federal requirements.
- Provide support as back up on the bi-weekly payroll process for 250 employees, ensuring accuracy and timely remittance of wages, taxes, and benefits.
- Be an HRIS expert to help build and implement HR automations, ensuring efficient and timely day to day HR operations.
- Complete special projects by clarifying project objectives; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an HR Coordinator or Generalist role.
- Proven experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Our current platform is Ultimate Software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment.
- Cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities.
- Willingness to be open and respectful of all backgrounds.
- Fluency in language(s) other than English valued (Hmong, Somali, Spanish).
Hiring Pay Range: $55,000 - 60,000+ annually / Depending on Qualifications.
