Job Summary
These positions support and assist professional staff during summer field season with sampling the ambient groundwater monitoring network, data entry, and report preparation. There may be occasional overnight travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Incumbent must be enrolled in or graduated from a science related program for a 2 year associates or 4 year bachelor’s degree in a natural science program, such as geology, environmental science, earth science, hydrology, or closely related program.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with groundwater sampling techniques is preferred.
Additional coursework in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and statistics is desirable.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to safely perform field work associated with ground water monitoring. This will include the ability to drive a motor pool vehicle, and occasionally carry up to 50 lbs of equipment to well locations in the field. Should be capable of moderate physical exertion in summer weather conditions
Additional Requirements
A driver’s license is an essential function of this position. This requires possession of an unrestricted Class D Driver’s License. The job offer is contingent on confirmation of a valid driver’s license AND a satisfactory DLR check.
Requires a Class D Driver's License: a single unit vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of less than 26,000 pounds. This is a basic driver's license. Operators may also tow vehicles/trailers as long as the gross combination weight does not exceed 26,000 pounds.
