Join our Event Services team as an Event Setup Attendant and help us provide excellence in customer service by setting and preparing for events while following established procedures, safety protocols, and proactively approaching situations resulting in meeting and exceeding client expectations. This position provides physical and organizational services to event spaces.

Schedule: Current shifts available vary, but may include day, evening, and weekend hours.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand and follow established set-up procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency under tight deadlines as required.
  • Follow work orders and instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Ensure equipment storage space is organized, stocked, and maintained to ensure that inventory is protected.
  • Move event equipment to and from storage by hand, carts, or other equipment, and unload and set room according to work order and instructions.
  • Adapt work patterns based on traffic flow in event spaces; using appropriate strategies when working around museum visitors.
  • Follow all Facility Services event policies and procedures to ensure all safety precautions are being followed.
  • Proactively respond to and follow through on situations as they arise, ensuring the best event experience for all.
  • Partner with Facility Set-Up Supervisor to establish work schedule based on event needs.
  • Embrace the role of team player who represents Facility Services, working closely with events team and taking work direction from the Facility Set-Up Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and respect in all interactions with co-workers, visitors, vendors, and event participants.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven customer service and/or retail, hospitality experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry, push and/or pull up to 45 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working under tight deadlines.
  • Event and/or banquet set-up experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry, push and/or pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities.
  • Willingness to be open and respectful of all backgrounds.
  • Fluency in language(s) other than English valued (Hmong, Somali, Spanish).

Starting Pay Rate: $11.50 USD per hour / Depending on Qualifications.
