Job Description

This position is located at State and Private Forestry, Conservation Education (CE) Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Administers a professional development and training program designed to support the Forest Service's Conservation Education strategic objectives. Responsible for analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation of education/training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct special course materials, seminars, workshops, short courses, informational briefings, and conferences on a variety of Conservation Education topics.
  • Analyze, develop, implement, and evaluate an environmental education/training program.
  • Direct, guide, and integrate team members engaged in education and training-related projects.
  • Responsible for accurate accounting and execution of grants and agreements with local, state, and non-governmental organizations in accordance with financial management procedures.
  • Identify learning styles and abilities of learners to plan and develop environmental education related lessons.
  • Communicate written evaluations, ideas, concepts and recommendations on environmental education issues to a variety of audiences.
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff and partners to promote conservation education efforts and related initiatives.

Travel Required

50% or less - Travels to meetings, conferences, and training.
