Minnesota Native Landscapes, a leader in ecological restoration, is looking for an Ecological Project Estimator to join its growing team. The Ecological Project Estimator is responsible for estimating the cost, materials and personnel needed to bid on various ecological restoration projects, with a specific focus is on mid-size, non-residential restoration projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares bids and/or proposals on various ecological restoration projects which include, vegetation management and control, installation of native seed and plants, stabilization and erosion control, excavation and grading, etc.
- Assists with preparation of prime contracting bids and other bidding administrative tasks.
- Assists with project management, as needed.
- Assists with bidding of residential restoration projects, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Ecology, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management or related fields; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong background in ecology and vegetation dynamics.
- 2+ year experience bidding ecological restoration projects.
- Strong technical background in the integration of technology and environmental science.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound decisions and problem solve.
- Advanced computer knowledge, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated success with living the company's values of passion, positivity, excellence and innovation.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of time standing and walking through wet and uneven terrain.
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
- Able to travel to various worksites with occasional overnight stays required.
